Women’s Program
As a martial art originally made by a woman for a woman, Ving Tsun is uniquely suited to Women’s martial art training. The three main tenets: relaxation, efficiency and center line, all combine to create an effective defense system that relies on technique and not body strength. Because Ving Tsun is a system created for all body types, regardless of stature or physical fitness, women are able to use it to defend themselves against attack much easier than many other styles.
The purpose of the Women’s Training Program in this school is to create a safe, understanding, invigorating environment for women to train with their peers. We recognize that there are many reasons why women might not want to train in a co-ed environment, among which are distractions, intimidation, and different perceptions of competition. By training exclusively with women for at least the first year of the program, practitioners can develop a sense of their own power in a safe environment. This builds confidence, increases relaxation in daily life, and creates a better body image as well as elevated self-esteem. Kung Fu training has been proven to aid in relieving daily stress as well as helping in extreme situations.
Ving Tsun Kung Fu is a fighting martial art. Unlike a traditional gym, these classes are exclusively geared towards learning kung fu for the purposes of effective self defense and fighting ability. The byproducts of this are of course increased physical fitness and relaxation.
